Jacqueline Wake has been a newspaper journalist for 18 years, working on a number of national titles in the UK such as The Daily Mail, The Daily Express and The Sun. She was Night Editor for The Daily Star and Deputy Editor of Metro. In her native North East England she was Chief Sub Editor on The Newcastle Journal and in her adopted home town of Glasgow, Scotland, was a sub-editor and features writer for The Herald. She was best known for a weekly column, Bar Spy, and as a result became intimately acquainted with every pub in Scotland's Central Belt.

Jacqueline was a producer and news reporter on the award-winning Wear FM team, a community radio station which in its first year scooped Sony Radio Station of the Year.

She studied English at Aberdeen University where her love affair with literature was ignited. She is a historical re-enactor and travels around the country as part of a living history group, and can often be spotted running about the Scottish Highlands dressed as a medieval wench or a Redcoat soldier. In her spare time she is a stock market trader.

Jacqueline is currently working on her first novel, a romance.
